Not owner take-home pay. Assumes all stated purchases occur at the entered price.
How the calculation works
Annual gross revenue = price × customers × purchases per customer. Variable costs = revenue × the entered percentage. Simplified surplus = revenue − variable costs − annual fixed costs. Customers needed = target ÷ (price × purchases), rounded up.
What to include in your assumptions
Estimate payment fees, fulfillment, refunds and other variable expenses in the cost percentage. Include venue commitments, software, staffing or other fixed expenses in annual fixed costs as appropriate. Avoid counting the same cost twice. The tool does not model taxes, financing, timing of payments, customer acquisition funnels, or changing capacity.
Make the scenario useful
Try a conservative version with fewer customers and higher costs. Then ask whether you have the time, demand, and qualified help to serve the volume shown. A negative surplus means the entered costs exceed the modeled sales; it is a signal to revisit the plan.
